Why is my key being refused?
The key that was sent to you has been verified and is valid. Please make sure you enter both the username and key as follow and check that your computer clock is accurate.
Is High-D compatible with Windows 7?
The "standard" Windows version of High-D will work just fine with Windows 7, but will run in 32-bit mode. If your are using the 64-bit version of Windows 7, you can obtain the 64-bit version of High-D by downloading the appropriate installer. In principle, there is no compelling reason to switch for the 64 bits version, as the main difference is that it can handle more memory (4 GB and up), which is normally not necessary for the data volume commonly used with High-D.
How to increase the amount of available memory?
How much RAM can be allocated (maximum value) is determined during the installation. To change the value that has been set, locate the High-D.vmoptions file in the installation directory (usually C:\Program Files\Macrofocus\High-D\) and edit using a text editor the numerical value to a higher amount, e.g. (for 4096 MB):
-Xmx4096m
How to boost performance?
here are few tips that could help boosting the performance:
- Set the Settings->Layout->Geometry to Polylines. This is simplest geometry and therefore the fastest.
- Set the Settings->Appearance->Transparency of Colored Items to 1. This will disable alpha-blending.
- Disable antialiasing in the Options menu.
- Reduce the number of records by grouping them (for example using clustering techniques).
In any case, please feel free to share your experiences with respect to performance.
